Founder Of Huawei Recruiting Excellent Foreigners

Chinese technology giant Huawei issued an internal speech by its founder Ren Zhengfei. He said that Huawei would recruit some “high nose” foreign talents who would make “foreign guns” and spend three to five years to move from the previous “Tuba road” to internationalization.

Ren Zhengfei first pointed out that Huawei is in a critical period of strategic survival and development. It should be more aggressive to obtain the best talents in the world. In addition to “sticking to scooping up the oil at the top” in China and increasing the recruitment of overseas students, it should also pay attention to the acquisition of “high nose” talents and give more budgets to overseas research institutes.

He further said that due to the restrictions imposed by the United States on some applications for master’s and doctoral study visas, the number of outstanding talents studying in the United States and returning to China will gradually decrease in the future. Therefore, Huawei should open up another way to attract talents from other countries studying and working in Europe and the United States.

Ren Zhengfei asked Huawei’s overseas research institutes to undertake the responsibility and mission of recruiting talents. “We should turn the North American Research Institute into a talent recruitment Institute, look for papers, find talents, and drink coffee. A cup of coffee absorbs cosmic energy. Not only the director but also experts at all levels should participate”.

He stated that not only North America but also Huawei’s overseas research institutes should jointly build a global talent network for Huawei.

Ren Zhengfei said that we should recruit some “high noses” that will make “foreign guns” into Huawei, and use three to five years to gradually internationalize Huawei from the former main “Tuba road”. At the same time, we should also look for “high nose”, especially outstanding talents from various countries who have studied or worked in the United States and Europe, to attract them to work in China.

 
He said that Huawei’s overseas research institutes focus on research, not product development. Some talents engaged in product development should be mobilized to work in China for a while.

Ren Zhengfei also stressed that he supported some excellent doctors from Europe and America to enter the postdoctoral workstation jointly established by Huawei and colleges and universities in China for research. “You can also (write) recommendation letters to colleges and universities to enrich the national land”.

According to Xinhua news agency, at the central talent work conference, the Chinese President proposed to implement the strategy of strengthening the country with talents in the new era, comprehensively cultivate, introduce and make good use of talents, accelerate the construction of an important talent center and innovation highland in the world, provide talent support for the basic realization of socialist modernization in 2035, and lay a talent foundation for building a socialist modern power in 2050.
