Updated Quarantine Policy In December!

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ith Christmas and Chinese New Year approaching, the quarantine policy for Chinese returning to their home countries is stricter than before and could be as long as 56 days, to strictly prevent imported cases from abroad.

 
Add down the latest December quarantine policies and times for each province/municipality:

Beijing
(14+7+7)

Beijing Port of Entry: After the 14-day intensive quarantine period, a 7-day home or intensive quarantine will continue, followed by a 7-day Health monitoring period.

Entry from other domestic ports:

1. 21 days to enter Beijing, 7 days of health monitoring after entering Beijing, 7 days of homestay or intensive quarantine, and

2. if less than 21 quarantine days before, 7 days of health monitoring after entering Beijing.

Tianjin
(14+7)

Tianjin port of entry: 14 days intensive quarantine + 7 days home quarantine.

Entry to Tianjin from other ports of entry in China: entries to Tianjin after 14 days of release from quarantine are subject to a 7-day home quarantine; persons re-entering Tianjin after more than 21 days and less than 28 days must provide proof of negative nucleic acid test within 3 days before arrival in Tianjin.

Shanghai
(14+7)

After 14 days of quarantine observation, community Health monitoring continues for 7 days. Six nucleic acid tests are conducted during the quarantine and community Health monitoring period, and the frequency of nucleic acid testing is increased as appropriate for those of priority concern.

Nanjing
(14+14)

14 days of intensive quarantine, plus 14 days of home quarantine for medical observation.

Hubei
(14+14)

Entry to Hubei port: 14 days of intensive quarantine medical observation, two nucleic acid tests, and one antibody test; after the intensive quarantine medical observation period, 14 days of home medical observation, two nucleic acid tests.

Other ports of entry: 14 days of intensive quarantine medical observation in other provinces, 14 days of home medical observation after coming (returning) to Hubei, and 2 nucleic acid tests.

Henan
(14+7)

14 days of intensive quarantine + 7 days of home medical observation.

Zhengzhou: 7 days of home medical observation + 1 nucleic acid + 1 serum antibody test.
Luoyang: Continue home quarantine for 14 days + 2 nucleic acid tests.

Hebei
(14+14)

14 days intensive/home quarantine + 14 days home health testing

Jilin
(14+14/14+7+7)

High-risk countries abroad: quarantine for 14+14 days, after 14 days of intensive quarantine at the port of entry, they continue to be quarantined for 14 days after arriving in Jilin.

Non-high-risk areas: the returnees will be quarantined for 14+7+7 days, 14 days at the port of entry, and 7 days in Jilin before being transferred to home quarantine for 7 days.

Heilongjiang
(14+14/21+14)

Heilongjiang port of entry: 14 days intensive quarantine + 14 days home quarantine, 3 nucleic acid tests + 1 serum antibody (IgM and IgG) test.

Other points of entry: 14 days intensive quarantine back to Heilongjiang, then continued 7 days intensive quarantine + 7 days home quarantine.

Harbin quarantine policy (21+14): 21 days intensive quarantine for medical observation + 14 days home quarantine for medical observation.

Liaoning
(14+7+7/28+28)

Entry to Liaoning: 14 days of intensive quarantine followed by 7 days of home quarantine and 7 days of community health testing.

Other entry points: 14 days of intensive quarantine at the place of entry, followed by “+7+7 (single occupancy)” preventive and control measures in the city of destination upon return to Liaoning.

Shenyang quarantine policy (28+28): 28 days of intensive quarantine medical observation in hotels followed by 28 days of home quarantine, for a total of 56 days.

Anhui
(14+7+7/3+11)

14 days intensive quarantine + 7 days home quarantine + 7 days health monitoring. If the first point of entry is Shanghai, 3 days of intensive quarantine in Shanghai + 11 days of intensive quarantine in Guangde, Anhui.

Hunan
(14+14/14+7+7)

Entry from high-risk countries: 14 days of intensive quarantine at the port of entry, and 14 days of intensive quarantine after arrival in Hunan.

Entry from non-high-risk countries: 14+7+7 days of quarantine, 14 days of centralized quarantine at the port of entry, and then 7 days of centralized quarantine in Hunan before home quarantine for 7 days.

Shanxi
(14+14)

Entry into Taiyuan: 14 days intensive quarantine (4 nucleic acid tests + 2 antibody tests) + 14 days home quarantine (2 nucleic acid tests + 2 antibody tests).

Entry from other provinces: 14 days home quarantine (2 nucleic acid tests + 2 antibody tests) after 14 days of centralized quarantine.

Zhejiang
(14+7+7)

14 days intensive quarantined medical observation + 7 days home health observation and 7 days daily health monitoring.

Sichuan Port of Entry
(14+7)

14 days of centralized quarantine + 7 days of home quarantine, and those who do not meet the conditions for home quarantine shall stay in centralized quarantine.

Other domestic ports of entry: if the arrival time in Sichuan is before 21 st quarantine day, they should be transported to the home quarantine by the local closed-loop and stay quarantined at home until they have completed 21 days.

Jiangsu
(14+14/3+11+14)

Arrivals destined for Nanjing: 14 days of centralized quarantine + 14 days of home quarantine for medical observation.

People transferred from Shanghai to Jiangsu: 14 days of home quarantine on top of the “3+11” centralized quarantine.

After the 14-day quarantine period of entry from other provinces and cities: the home quarantine should be continued until the 28th day of quarantine.

Shaanxi
(14+14)

14 days intensive quarantine + 14 days home quarantine for medical observation.

Jiangxi
(21+7 / 14+7+7)

Entering Jiangxi: 21 days intensive quarantine + 7 days home medical observation.

Entry from other provinces and released from quarantine: 7 days intensive quarantine + 7 days home medical observation.

Shandong
(14+7)

14 days of intensive quarantine + 7 days of home health monitoring. 4 nucleic acid tests during intensive quarantine, 1 nucleic acid test, and 1 serum antibody test at the centralized service point immediately upon arrival at the end of quarantine, with negative tests continuing with 7 days of home health monitoring and another nucleic acid test on the 7th day of health monitoring.

Chongqing
(14+7+7)

Chongqing entry: 14 days intensive quarantine + 7 days home quarantine + 7 days self-health management.

Entry from other provinces and cities and quarantine release: provide proof of release and nucleic acid testing, 7 days home quarantine + 7 days self-health management.

Fujian
(14)

For those whose destination is Fujian Province, a “point-to-point” pick-up to continue the 7-day home health monitoring measures after returning to their destination.

Guangdong
(14+7/14+7+7)

All cities except Guangzhou and Shenzhen adopt 14 days of centralized quarantine + 7 days of home quarantine.

Guangzhou quarantine policy (14+7+7): 14 days of centralized quarantine + 7 days of home quarantine + 7 days of self-health monitoring.

Shenzhen quarantine Policy (14+7): 14 days of intensive quarantine for medical observation + 7 days of community quarantine with no restrictions on going out.

Guangxi
(14+7)

14 days intensive quarantine + 7 days home health plus testing, and 4 nucleic acid tests during the 14-day quarantine, and 2 nucleic acid tests during the 7-day home quarantine.

Guizhou
(14+14)

14 days of intensive quarantine + 14 days of home health monitoring and 5 nucleic acid tests.

Gansu
(14+14)

Gansu entry: 14 days intensive quarantine + 14 days home health monitoring.

Non-Gansu entry: those entering Gansu within 7 days of release from quarantine at the place of entry are subject to home health monitoring, and are tested again for nucleic acid on the 7th day of entry, with a negative test result they are free to travel; those entering Su more than 7 days after release from quarantine at the place of entry are subject to information registration and reporting and are not tested or controlled.

Qinghai
(14+7)

14 days intensive quarantine + 7 days home quarantine.

Xinjiang
(14)

14 days centralized quarantine, if Xinjiang is not the first point of entry, no centralized quarantine is required after 28 days of entry, 7 days home health testing is required.

Yunnan
(14+7)

14 days intensive quarantine medical observation + 7 days home quarantine/quarantine medical observation, if home quarantine is not available, 7 days intensive quarantine medical observation will continue to be implemented.

Hong Kong
(21)

All Hong Kong residents who have stayed outside China (including Chinese Mainland/Macau/Taiwan/Hong Kong) on the day of arrival or 21 days before arrival in Hong Kong (whether arriving at the airport or a land port) are subject to mandatory quarantine at a designated quarantine hotel for 21 days.

In addition, the China Health and Welfare Commission has recently issued a notice entitled “Notice of officials to strengthen the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic in port cities”, which aims to strengthen the prevention and control of the epidemic.

According to this Notice, from the date of the Notice to 15 March 2022, persons departing from land border crossing cities (except those connected to Hong Kong and Macau) are required to hold a certificate of a negative nucleic acid test within 48 hours and to undergo at least one nucleic acid test upon arrival for persons traveling to land border crossings.
