Social insurance refers to basic pension insurance, basic medical insurance, unemployment insurance, work injury insurance and maternity insurance. In general, employers also provide employees with housing fund, which is not compulsory by the state. This is often referred to as the „five insurances and one fund“.

The Social Insurance Law stipulates that the employer should register its employees for social insurance within 30 days
