Chinese Update Entry-Exit Policy

From June 6, 2022, foreigners and their family members who come to China for employment can apply for visas directly from Chinese consulates abroad with relevant materials and without invitations to China.

Since November 2020, because of the increasing global epidemic of COVID-19, when foreigners apply for visas to China, they need to provide an additional invitation letter issued by the Chinese Foreign Affairs Department.

From June 6, 2022, foreigners who come to China for employment do not need to apply for invitation letters. They can directly apply for work visas at Chinese consulates abroad under work permit notices and other materials. Their accompanying family members can directly apply for family visas to Chinese consulates abroad under kinship certificates and other materials.

Since the cancellation of the invitation letter for foreigners to come to China for employment, the time for foreigners to apply for visas to China is a month shorter.
