How Do I Apply For An Emergency Humanitarian Visa?
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he epidemic situation in China has further stabilised an improved, but in order to strictly prevent the increase of cases imported from abroad, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairsand the State Administration of Migration have jointly issued an anouncement to impose certain restrictions on the entry of foreigners to China, which is a temporary restriction as a last resort, taking into account the current practice of several countries.
However, for other foreigners coming to China to engage in neccessary activities such as economic and trade, science and techonology, epidemic prevention and anti-epidemic cooperation and exchange, as well as those who really need to come to China for urgent humanitarian reasons, they can apply for a new visa from the Chinese embassies and consulates abroad.
One can say that China recognizes 2 categories of foreigners:
1. Foreigners who come to China to engage in neccessary activities such as economic and trade, science and technology, epidemic prevention and anti-epidemic cooperation and exchange;
2. Foreigners who have a genuine need to come to China for urgent humanitarian reasons.
The above two scenarios have become the main ways and means of entry to China during the epidemic.
In the first case, PU/TE invitation letter issued by the Chinese provincial government is required in order to apply for the relevant visa.
However, Chinese government is very strict about issuing PU/TE invitation letters during the epidemic, and both the aplicant and the inviting company have to be strictly assessed before they can be accepted.
So what can you do if you don’t meet the requirements for a PU/TE invitation letter?
The only option is to try a humanitarian visa application. In the second case, the current criteria for granting a humanitarian visa are for extreme cases such as critical illness or death of a domestic relative.
